Emergency Vehicle Lighting Control System

nht were approached by a leading manufacturer, providing lighting and control systems to the Emergency Services, requiring the implementation and manufacture of a complete solution for the in-vehicle control of light-bars and sirens.

Although the client provided the initial concept and basic design, nht worked closely with them to take the design elements and concepts through to full scale production within a short timescale.

The system consisted of an in-vehicle handset and a high power control box with a very small footprint, interconnected by CAN-bus. The controller provides nine 15Amp outputs, with the overall current controlled by the processor on a priority basis.

The programmable backlit handset can be used to control any sequence of lights as well as providing audio through to the clients CAN-bus based siren unit.

The nht solution has provided the client with an industry-leading package in both size and performance that the competition can only strive to catch up with.
